The plan is to provide all local providers with detailed maps of the new City Boundary and allow them to give a 3-year pricing proposal for coverage within the City for Solid Waste pickup. Many folks do not need yard waste; Re-cycling is a separate personal preference. The negotiated pricing should meet or exceed the current “favorite nations’ pricing on any existing subdivision.
Contracts would include direct hotline contacts from the City to the Provider to resolve any issues promptly. Residents would call the City of Eastwood Public Works Department, and they would manage the situation. Under current plans, the City would pick up those contracts for those subdivisions provided the pricing was equal to or better than city-negotiated pricing.
The bottom line is that the plan is to leverage the City's size, lowering costs for the city but ultimately reducing homeowners' net out-of-pocket expenses, thereby offsetting some of the incremental taxes.
